ABOUT
I have been practicing yoga since 2004 and teaching in the San Francisco Bay Area and New York since 2012. I have studied many styles of Hatha yoga, including Vinyasa, Restorative and Prenatal, and draw on an eclectic mix of methods and traditions. As a long distance runner and devoted yogi, I believe we all ultimately want the same thing: to be pain free and functional as long as possible, and that objective informs my teaching.
While I have completed more than 700 hours of professional training, including certifications as a prenatal and restorative yoga instructor, I am largely self-taught. I have logged more than 10,000 hours of teaching since 2012 and am deeply committed to continuing education and professional development. In addition to being a functional movement devotee, I am also a prenatal yoga teacher trainer and birth educator, specializing in pelvic floor dysfunction.
In my classes, yogis of all levels can expect to develop strength and functional mobility while learning about yoga philosophy and leading scientific research. By emphasizing breath and alignment, I intend my classes to be a creative exploration of the energetic effects of asana, pranayama and meditation; I aim to help students harness that energy to foster physical, emotional and mental well-being. Ultimately, I look to blend the best elements of vinyasa yoga, anatomical precision, and mindfulness teachings, and thoughtfully design sequences to cultivate strength, flexibility, balance, and awareness.
